High-Purity Multi-Cartridge Housings for UPW Service
A separate Fil-Trek line from the bag housings above — 316 stainless pressure vessels with a virgin PFA-lined wetted interior, crevice-free construction, and zero-bypass cartridge sealing, published from 9 to 210 elements and roughly 180–4,200 GPM depending on model. Built for semiconductor and other high-purity polishing/distribution service where the housing itself can't be allowed to contribute particulate or ionic contamination back into the water.
Separate dirty and clean drain connections preserve that quality boundary through maintenance and cartridge changeout; the top vent supports complete fill/wetting during startup.
A UPW housing can be loaded with the correct high-retention cartridges and still fail its actual job if any water finds a path around the cartridge seal instead of through the media — bypass water never touched the filter, no matter how fine its rating. Fil-Trek's absolute/zero-bypass sealing via direct plate seating exists specifically to close that path. But the housing alone doesn't manufacture ultrapure water; upstream RO, EDI, and UV establish the ionic/organic purity, and this housing's real job is preserving that purity without becoming a new contamination source itself.
Cartridge selection is where projects most often go wrong even with the right housing. Fil-Trek's own high-purity media — TEF-PURE PTFE, AQUA-TEC PES, FMA polypropylene — spans a real range of retention ratings, and current SEMI standards (F63/C79) specifically address sub-15 nm filtration for the most demanding UPW positions. A cartridge that's excellent for RO guard filtration can be the wrong choice for final polishing ahead of leading-edge wafer processing. LibertyCES's job is confirming exactly where in the train a given housing sits before the cartridge, connection geometry, and DP instrumentation package get finalized — not assuming "UPW Series" alone answers that question.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is a duplex bag filter housing used for?
Duplex (dual-vessel) housings like Fil-Trek's DSL/DTL/SLDV/TLDV Series use a valve changeover to enable zero-downtime bag swaps — a real engineering feature for continuous chemical dosing or process lines that can't tolerate a filtration shutdown.
What materials are available for Fil-Trek fabricated strainers?
Carbon steel, 304/316 stainless steel, duplex, super duplex, Hastelloy, Inconel, and titanium, rated up to ANSI Class 2500 — one of the broadest exotic-alloy ranges available for a strainer in the LibertyCES catalog.
What is FRP housing material and when is it used?
Fiberglass-reinforced plastic (FRP) is a non-metallic pressure vessel material explicitly built for corrosive and marine service — a real, distinct material class from metal alloys or PVC/PP/PVDF fittings, available on both cartridge and multi-bag housings.
