What LibertyCES specifies from Ace Roto-Mold

Ace Roto-Mold cone bottom polyethylene tank on a black steel stand with gallon markings
Vertical & Cone Bottom Tanks
10–15,500 gal

A real ~200-chemical resistance chart, tested at multiple concentrations — including the finding that polyethylene itself becomes non-resistant at 98% sulfuric acid.

Ace Roto-Mold Dualline flat-bottom double-wall polyethylene tank with 16-inch vented lid
Dualline™ Double Wall Tanks
65–6,500 gal

Patent 9,162,816, EPDM elastic seal standard between primary and secondary tank walls, 16" vented lid standard.

Ace Roto-Mold 6-gallon XLPE fuel tank, model SP0006-FUWB, with brass bulkhead fitting
Fuel Tanks (XLPE)
6, 12 gal

Cross-linked polyethylene construction — the explicit engineered exception to the general "no fuels in polyethylene" rule.

98% sulfuric acid is where polyethylene itself stops being the answer — not the tank brand.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

At what sulfuric acid concentration does polyethylene fail?

Ace Roto-Mold's own chemical resistance chart rates polyethylene as chemically "Not Resistant" at 98% concentration and in fuming form — a concentration-driven material failure independent of temperature, more precise than a simple temperature-ceiling framing.

What is ESCR and why does it matter for a chemically "resistant" tank?

Environmental Stress Crack Resistance (ESCR) is a mechanically distinct failure mode from chemical dissolution — a chemical can rate "Resistant" on the compatibility chart and still cause stress cracking at fittings, bands, and tie-down lugs under mechanical load and elevated temperature.

Can polyethylene tanks store fuel?

Standard LPE tanks are not recommended for fuels or solvents, but Ace Roto-Mold's dedicated Fuel Tanks (6 and 12 gallon) use cross-linked XLPE construction specifically engineered and rated for gasoline/diesel contact — construction type, not the polyethylene family broadly, determines fuel compatibility.
